Klimaoasen Oldenburg – Entdecken. Verstehen. Verbinden.
Eversten Holz is an urban forest, a wildlife habitat, and an important part of Oldenburg’s climate resilience. The “Klimaoasen Oldenburg” project supports this special place through targeted climate adaptation measures. An interactive interactive trail brings these efforts to life, inviting visitors to rediscover the connections between soil, water, plants, animals, and the city.
We designed and installed the interactive trail and its accompanying guidance system. “Spotlights” throughout the forest combine learning with hands-on discovery: magnifying glasses reveal hidden details, lift-up panels uncover information, and carefully framed views offer fresh perspectives. At an audio station, visitors turn a hand crank to generate the electricity needed to hear stories about the storeys of the forest.
Lounge seats made from stacked timber and large table-and-bench sets crafted from rough-cut oak invite visitors to linger and connect.
Together, these elements create opportunities to pause, explore, and look more closely—offering a new way to experience Eversten Holz and understand its importance to the city’s future.
